In a remarkable display of compassion and expertise, the Give Me Sight Foundation, led by Dr. Rebecca Armour and Dr. John Haines, embarked on a mission to restore vision to 185 blind patients in the Trang District of Thailand. This collaborative effort between American and Thai surgeons not only brought hope and light to the lives of those in need but also exemplified the principles of service and excellence upheld by the Give Me Sight Foundation.

The Give Me Sight Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing eye care and restoring vision to individuals in underserved communities around the world. Comprised of accomplished surgeons and board members, Rebecca Armour MD, John Haines MD, Joy Haines RN, Lew McBee, Maggie Carlson RN, Andy Nelson, Sarah Weaver, and Matt Classen. Additional members of the medical team included Denise McBee, Rene Brabham, Steve Hebert, Erin Lowrie, Sam Armour, and John Armour.

Recognizing the importance of local expertise and cultural understanding, the Give Me Sight Foundation collaborated with a team of four Thai surgeons. This partnership allowed for a near seamless integration of knowledge and skills, ensuring the highest quality of care for the patients.

The December mission to the Trang District of Thailand was a resounding success, with 185 blind patients regaining their sight. The impact of these procedures extended far beyond the physical restoration of vision; it brought renewed hope and independence to individuals who had long been deprived of the ability to see.
